Collection: BRETT FREUND

ARTIST STATEMENT

In each piece there exists parts past and parts present. During the onset external influences brought ambitions of beauty and chaos. Working in the studio now has become self-referential as I explore and expand upon points of interest or surprise.

Line gestures that define form are blurred in firing. Cut pieces are turned and attached at a new angle. Repetition in making allows for spontaneity as these subtle shifts grow into larger themes moving and evolving the body of work forward.
